In this issue’s Spotlight, China’s animal testing practices are discussed in light of a move by the China Food & Drug Administration (CFDA) this summer to drop the requirement for the compulsory testing of some types of cosmetics on animals, and potentially drop testing of ‘special’ cosmetics such as deodorants, sun care products and hair dye as well.
