Seeks breakthroughs in packaging innovation

DuPont Packaging, part of science-based products company DuPont, has announced a call for entries in its 23rd DuPont Awards For Packaging Innovation. DuPont Packaging is encouraging packaging designers, converters, consumer goods producers, retailers and equipment manufacturers from across the globe to enter their products for consideration. The jury panel, which will be headed by John Bernado, president of Sustainable Innovations LLC, will judge entries on criteria including innovation, sustainability, and cost and waste reduction.

“The industry is facing many challenges to address cost and waste reduction as well as sustainability demands while responding to consumers’ needs for greater convenience. Innovation is key to these new packaging approaches and we aim to recognize innovative solutions from around the world that address local needs,” Shanna Moore, global director of sustainability, DuPont Packaging commented.

The deadline for entries is 28 February 2011. Entry is free and the company is keen to stress that submitted packaging need not contain DuPont materials.

Winners will be announced in the spring of 2011. For more information visit www.packaging.dupont.com.
