The brand’s strategy spans ingredients, manufacturing and packaging

The Hut Group-owned beauty brand ESPA has announced its 2021 sustainability goals.

Following its decision to remove all excess plastic packaging – including plastic pumps and spatulas – ESPA has plans to only use packaging that is recyclable, reusable or refillable.

Meanwhile, all paper and board will be sourced from FSC-certified sustainable sources and, to increase the renewable energy generated at ESPA’s factory, the brand will power 40% of the facility with its own solar panels.

In 2020, ESPA switched its tube packaging to be made from 25% recycled PCR materials, and intends to find a recyclable alternative for its tube-based packaging.

The brand has pledged to constantly review its ingredients and manufacturing processes to meet these sustainability goals.

“This evolutionary approach will ensure ESPA products continue to deliver inner calm and conscious luxury throughout 2021 and beyond, in harmony with nature,” said the brand.
