The European Commission has signed a new strategy in a fresh push to protect consumers from the most harmful chemicals.
The EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability, as announced in the European Green Deal, aims to boost the development and innovation of safe and sustainable chemicals, for the environment as well as consumers, by banning the use of the most harmful chemicals.
This will include the phasing out of products that affect the immune and respiratory system and persistent substances such as polyfluoroalkyl substances.
