Kalama Sodium Benzoate Liquid inhibits the growth of bacteria, yeasts and moulds

Emerald Kalama Chemical has introduced Kalama Sodium Benzoate Liquid to its portfolio.

The ingredient is an effective preservative that incorporates the company’s high-quality sodium benzoate NF/FCC into a new solution-in-water form.

“Many of our personal care customers have processes designed for liquid ingredients,” commented Catherine Rémy, Global Sales Director for Emerald’s Consumer Specialties business.

“While sodium benzoate has fairly high water solubility, by offering it in a solution, we can improve the processing efficiency for these customers and make sodium benzoate easier to incorporate.

“The new liquid form complements the solid forms already in our portfolio, allowing us to offer a more comprehensive range of options to meet all of our customers’ needs.”

Kalama Sodium Benzoate Liquid joins a line-up that already includes sodium benzoate NF/FCC in powder, dense granule and extruded dust-free (EDF) forms.

All of these products are said to effectively inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeasts and moulds in products up to pH7 and at ambient or elevated process temperatures.
