The Lachen supply chain site started as a small fragrance manufacturing plant and today acts as the global distribution hub for The Estée Lauder Companies travel retail channel

The Estée Lauder Companies held a celebration at its Lachen hub in Switzerland on 30 June to mark the site’s 40th year.

The Lachen supply chain site, located on the lake of Zurich, was created in 1977 as a small fragrance manufacturing plant.

Today, it has expanded to become the company’s global distribution hub for travel retail, while also being the manufacturing site for fragrance and skin care products.

The celebration was attended by Leonard Lauder, Chairman Emeritus of The Estée Lauder Companies.

Addressing employees and members of the community, he said: “One of the most proud moments of my life has been helping to create the wonderful facility in Lachen.

“My love of Lachen, Schwyz and Switzerland goes back a long time. 40 years ago, in 1977, we founded our first facility in Lachen. And since then, we have done great things and expanded to become the hub of our worldwide duty free operations. It is all because of you and what you’ve been able to do.”

The Estée Lauder Companies’ travel retail brands include Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Jo Malone and more.
