The ‘clean’ hair care label will adopt Solstice Propellant in three new products

Hair care brand Fekkai will use Honeywell’s low greenhouse gas (GHG) Solstice Propellant technology in three new products.

The Volume Lock Hair Spray, Flexible Hold Hair Spray and Sheer Dry Shampoo from the ‘clean’ beauty label will be powered by Solstice Propellant (HFO-1234ze), which helps reduce GHG emissions by 99% compared with traditional propellants, while also upholding performance.

Solstice Propellant has an ultra-low GWP of less than one, is non-ozone depleting and is volatile organic compound (VOC)-exempt, meaning it has negligible contribution to ground-level smog formation.

Its use by Fekkai is said to support the hair care player’s focus on sustainable ingredients.

“Honeywell is committed to supporting our customers with ready-now solutions that help drive their environmental transformations,” said Laura Reinhard, Vice President and General Manager, Honeywell Foam and Industrial Products.

“When Fekkai approached us about using Honeywell's Solstice Propellant technology, we were excited to collaborate to provide consumers with a safe product they can feel good about and that’s better for the environment, without sacrificing performance.”
