Firmenich promotes Bérangère Magarinos-Ruchat to Global Head of Sustainability

The Geneva-based flavour and fragrance company created a new position for the climate change expert

Firmenich has appointed Dr Bérangère Magarinos-Ruchat to Global Head of Sustainability.

In the newly created role, she will lead the company’s environmental objectives.

Previously VP of Sustainability Partnerships, a position she has held since 2010, Magarinos-Ruchat was responsible for creating collaborations with global warming-focused organisations to address the challenges within the fragrance industry.

Magarinos-Ruchat said: “I am deeply honoured to be leading our sustainability agenda, in close collaboration with our key partners to make a positive societal impact.

“I would like to acknowledge my colleagues for their high level of engagement as we shape the next chapter of our sustainability journey together.”

This year, Magarinos-Ruchat was recognised by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development at the Leading Women Awards for her leadership in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Magarinos-Ruchat has a PhD in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, New York, as well as a postgraduate in Public Private Partnership Management from Cambridge University and a postgraduate in Social Innovation from Stanford.

She is a Founding Board Member of the Toilet Board Coalition and sits on the Investment Committee of the Livelihood Funds as well as the Steering Committee of the Juice CSR Platform.
