Described as a ‘experiential wonderland’, the 29,000sqft space brings together beauty’s best in show

Harrods’ hotly anticipated second H Beauty store has finally opened its doors to customers.

Described as a beauty shopper’s ‘utopia’ and ‘experiential wonderland’, the new 29,000sqft Milton Keynes, UK, space brings together beauty concessions, services and experiences for consumers.

Harrods’ curated product offering, led by head buyers Annalise Fard and Mia Collins, is said to have been developed with the local beauty community in mind, offering fan favourites and some of the industry’s most forward-thinking brands.

Across its categories, Harrods intends to showcase the best in the business with skin care products that fit every concern; a fragrance ‘playground’ that allows customers to discover the newest olfactory developments; as well as hair and make-up brands that will optimise each customer’s routine.

“At Harrods, we take great pride in knowing our beauty community and using our authority in the beauty space to ensure that the portfolio of brands and products across each H Beauty store are tailored to suit the local customers, and this is reflected at H Beauty centre:mk with the array of beauty collections and services,” said Fard, Harrods’ Director of Beauty.

“The latest H Beauty opening at centre:mk marks another significant addition to the UK’s beauty retail landscape and I am absolutely delighted to be creating an exciting new destination for our beauty community.

“As well as opening the most beautiful retail destination, we are so excited to be meeting beauty lovers and experts across the local community and bringing them into the H Beauty family.”

Littered across the new space are a variety of new concepts including the retailer’s Playtables, which provide a space for dry hair styling, make-up demos and product testing, as well as a 44-seat Champagne Bar, expected to open to customers from 17 May, due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Meanwhile, Harrods’ in-store dedicated boutiques give a nod to some of beauty’s most coveted brands; featuring decor that is quintessentially Gucci Beauty and stylish displays from Dolce & Gabbana.

“Whilst our new store features iconic signatures such as Hari, our famous H Beauty bear, a fantastic Champagne Bar and Playtable, it also offers a variety of new concepts and even more beauty-related experiences that before that will inspire and delight our customers as we seek to bring the ‘essence’ of Harrods Beauty to the area,” added Collins, Head of Beauty at Harrods.

“I can’t wait to share the full line-up of exclusive and up-and-coming brands and products with the local community, unlocking the opportunity to enjoy a variety of vibrant and dynamic brands that aren’t available anywhere else in Milton Keynes.”

The new destination follows the opening of Harrods’ Lakeside, Essex, store in September 2020, but was forced to close just two months after opening due to England’s second lockdown.

At the opening of its first store, the site was described as a ‘game-changing’ destination for beauty shopping and was said to be an extension of its London flagship that would attract consumers outside of the UK capital.
