French consumers evolve their beauty buys towards luxury and organic products

Consumers in France are buying fewer cosmetics products but of a higher value as the market holds steady

The French beauty market remained stable in 2018, but households are deprioritising the purchase of hygiene and beauty products in their household budget, according to market research company Kantar Worldpanel, which recently presented the results of its annual survey of the French market to Cosmetic Executive Women France. 

The average beauty budget fell, said Anaïs Dupuy, Business Development Manager at Kantar, with the market overall falling by 0.8% in volume and 0.2% in value.
