Game of Thrones actor Lena Headey has landed her first beauty ambassador role.

The British celebrity, who played Cersei Lannister on the hit television series, has been named as the Global Ambassador for charity Haircuts4Homeless.

She will work with the not-for-profit to promote the efforts of professional hairdressers who give their time pro-bono to provide haircuts for homeless people in the UK and Ireland.

Haircuts4Homeless founder Stewart Roberts is said to have struck up an online friendship with Headey, and offered her the position, after noticing the actress was engaging with the charity’s Instagram posts.

To kick off the partnership, Headey and Roberts have recorded a podcast discussing the company’s mission as well as how to support homeless people and refugees, which will air later this month.

“Stewart started Haircuts4Homeless and has created something beautiful, changing lives, sharing touch and kindness, giving those who go unseen the chance to feel recognised. Proud to be your ambassador,” said Headey.

Roberts added: “Lena is so generously giving us some of her time to support the work we are doing across the UK. I couldn't be more thankful that she has chosen to work with us."

Founded in 2014, Haircuts4Homeless now operates in 60 locations and more than 600 volunteers have offered 400,000 haircuts to date.
