Personal care ingredients company Gattefossé has launched Emulium Dolcea MB, claimed to be the most advanced and robust oil-in-water emulsifier in its natural range.
Based on Gatefossé’s patented wax butter technology, the composition of Emulium Dolcea MB has been finely tuned to provide optimal performance alongside natural gelling agents and emollients.
The Lyon-based supplier said the ingredient builds exceptionally stable emulsions that present smooth white textures with immediate and long-lasting moisturising power for up to 48 hours.
Its sensory signature is characterised by extreme softness, added Gattefossé.
“The composition of Emulium Dolcea MB has been designed to make it easy to use in all situations,” said Vincent Hubiche, Global Applications Manager at Gattefossé.
“Every component of this emulsifier plays a critical role to ensure stability. In formulation, it immediately stabilises the oil-water interface but also deploys in the aqueous and oil phases to both bring support to the emulsion and give a recognisable sensory impact.”

Emulium Dolcea MB comes in the form of a hydrated pellet that can be added to the aqueous or oil phase, making it convenient to use in both the laboratory and manufacture.
It is also COSMOS approved and can be used in organically certified, vegan and readily biodegradable formulations.
Emulium Dolcea MB has won the Bronze Innovation Award in the Functional Ingredients category at the 2020 in-cosmetics Global Awards.
