Gerresheimer reveals Marble Decoration technique

Published: 13-Apr-2016

Glass packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer has launched a technique for glass bottles that creates a marble effect, which it has called Marble Decoration. Marble Decoration can be achieved in a variety of colours and applied both to transparent and colour lacquered glass, and is said to deliver unique results on every bottle. The marble effect is created by transferring dye on a water surface onto the flask.

The more colours used, the more varied the resulting patterns will be, according to the company. Different visual effects can be achieved by varying the speed at which the flask is submersed during production, and a clear coat is applied after marbling to make the dye permanent. Marble Decoration is said to be suitable for both clear and pre-painted glass surfaces.
