Gillette kicks off YouTube game

Men\'s grooming giant Gillette (Procter & Gamble) has partnered with UK-based social entertainment company We R Interactive to launch an online football game.


Men's grooming giant Gillette (Procter & Gamble) has partnered with UK-based social entertainment company We R Interactive to launch an online football game. The release of I AM PLAYR follows the global roll out of Gillette's popular YouTube channel, Gillette Football Club, which enables football fans to access exclusive content such as game highlights and behind the scenes footage.

The new game will feature on the channel, and will be available only to subscribers of Gillette Football Club. Players will be able to "play the life of a professional footballer," through accessing a series of videos and interactive footage. Users can also go in the running to become the face of Gillette as a virtual brand ambassador.

"Gillette has a long track record in bringing men closer to their sporting passions, and we have taken this to the next level with the Gillette Football Club. This new partnership with We R Interactive will enhance the experience for both football fans on Gillette Football Club and I AM PLAYR users, and builds on our vision to ultimately deliver the best a fan can get with a complete online football experience," said Alex Tosolini, vp, E-Business for P&G.
