Givenchy Parfums has parted ways with its Creative Director for Make-up and Colour and mastermind of product development Nicolas Degennes (pictured).

His departure marks a period of transition for the LVMH-owned brand, who has been at the helm of the business since 1999.

Degennes was famously known for the creations of the brand’s best-selling Prisme Libre loose powder, as well as its Le Rouge Lipstick and Phenomen’Eyes mascara.

“As I am getting ready to explore new horizons, I wish to express new horizons, I wish to express my gratitude towards all the women and men who have contributed over the years to the success of the make-up category, in particular the Givenchy marketing teams, with whom I worked closely; the French and international press; as well as all the audacious fans of Givenchy make-up.

“I also wish to thank the LVMH group for having trusted and supported me for over 20 years.”

Degennes will step back from the group on 30 June; a successor is yet to be named.

Givenchy’s CEO Romain Spitzer also thanked Degennes for his role in the brand’s history.

“I wish to thank Nicolas personally for his inventiveness and his major contribution to the success of Givenchy make-up over the last 20 years,” he said.

“All the teams and I wish him every success in his future projects.”
