Henkel opens first Beauty Care laboratory in Middle East

The new facility joins the conglomerate's Laundry & Home Care business unit, which opened in Dubai in 2013

Henkel, the German consumer goods giant , has opened its first Beauty Care laboratory in the Middle East.

Located in Dubai, the same location as its Laundry & Home Care unit, the new satellite laboratory provides Henkel with space to develop and test its beauty products, such as Schwarzkopf.

Malek Dardour, Cluster Head MEA Beauty Care Retail at Henkel, said: “Dubai as a business and innovation hub serves as the ideal location for our new laboratory.

"The opening of the Lab is a significant milestone in advancing our regional product portfolio and highlights our commitment to the region with Dubai as a hub.”

The facility brings Henkels total number of R&D centres to 22.

Olfa Aouida, Head of R&D MEA, Beauty Care, added: "With our new satellite lab, we will be able to leverage the technologies innovated in our German central competence centre.

"The presence of the Beauty Care Lab in the region will further facilitate local developments to cater specific MEA consumers’ needs while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance."
