Workshops to focus on regulations, hair care and naturals


This year’s in-cosmetics Asia exhibition will host a programme of educational workshops addressing topics challenging the cosmetics industry. A dedicated half day Regulations Workshop will guide manufacturers through the most recent developments in regulations across the EU and Asia. Dr Annelie Struessman, technical director of CONUSBAT will lead the first session EU: Preparation for the Regulation Implementation, which seeks to provide visitors with information about the regulations set to replace the European Cosmetic Directive in 2013. Following this, Wendell Wei of China Gate will talk manufacturers through the key hurdles in registering products in China in China Focus: What is New?

ASEAN - Korea: Overview of Changes by Dr Alain Khaiat of Seers Consulting will address the latest Asian regulations while Le Chau Giang from Johnson & Johnson will explore regulatory strategies that raw materials suppliers and product manufacturers can follow in order to enter or innovate in Asia.

Hair care is an area where companies are constantly innovating and this year in-cosmetics Asia has dedicated a stand alone workshop to the sector. Dr Vaishali Gode of Marico will present Hair Physiology while Procter & Gamble’s Dr Meei-Lih Lin will lead Hair Care Sensory Evaluation.

L’Oréal’s Umesh Padake will host a session on the latest Trends in Hair Care, followed by presentations on styling from DSM’s Chang Wang, colouring from Sensient and conditioning, hosted by Christina He of Lubrizol.

The exhibition will also host two dedicated formulations streams: The Basic Formulation Workshop, outlining key steps in formulations strategy; and The Advanced Formulations Workshop, which will present attendees with a series of formulation options and their respective hurdles.

Finally, The Interactive Natural and Organic Workshop run by Dr Barbara Olioso of Organatural will discuss the issues and challenges surrounding natural personal care.

This year, in-cosmetics Asia will run from 6-8 November 2012 in Bangkok.
