The luxury fragrance company saw growth driven by its Coach and Rochas brands

Inter Parfums has announced its fourth quarter and full year sales for 2017, reporting an increase of 11% to $149.5m for the three months ended December 31, 2017, compared to the final quarter of 2016.

Growth was driven by strong sales of the company’s Coach and Rochas brands, noted Jean Madar, Chairman and CEO of Inter Parfums.

He said: “The final quarter was stronger than expected, with our new Coach for Men contributing much of the upside surprise.

“Coach brand sales well exceeded both last year’s fourth quarter and the full year, quickly making it our fourth largest brand.

“Rochas, another of our newer brands, also performed quite well, with brand sales up over 39% and 34% for the 2017 fourth quarter and full year, respectively, rising to fifth place among our European brands.”

Inter Parfums’ three largest brands, Montblanc, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin, also saw year-over-year sales growth of 4%, 20% and 5% respectively.

The company saw a slight decline in sales for its total US operations, despite a strong quarter for its Dunhill brand, but Madar said this was due to the timing of new product launches.

He added: “With 2018 product launches for many of our major brands, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Dunhill, Anna Sui and Oscar de la Renta, we look forward to resuming consolidated sales growth for US-based brands in 2018.”
