The film star’s partnership will debut with the beauty brand’s We Glow campaign and the launch of its upcoming Ambient Soft Glow Foundation

Hourglass Cosmetics has appointed American actress Julianne Moore as its new brand ambassador.

Moore’s one-year partnership with the Unilever-owned luxury make-up brand will debut with its We Glow campaign.

The inaugural campaign marks the launch of Hourglass’ upcoming Ambient Soft Glow Foundation, the latest addition to its Ambient Lighting collection.

Moore’s daughter, Liv Freundlich, joined her mother to create a 48-second video teasing the release.

Customers are currently able to sign-up to a waiting list to be first in line when the foundation drops.

The Ambient Lighting collection features a range palettes and brushes, and its most recent additions are the Universe and Universe Unlocked finishing powders.

“Our culture is often focused on outer beauty and trying to combat ageing,” said Moore.

“I appreciate the refreshing approach of this campaign in showing that beauty also comes from within and from the relationships we share.

“I love the soft-glow effect of this foundation and how it enhances my skin so naturally.

“I'm excited to kick off my partnership with Hourglass with such a high-performing product that works for everyone.”

Available in 32 shades, the foundation’s formula is infused with blurring spheres and light-diffusing pigments which helps minimise the look of pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

Launching alongside the product is a Foundation Brush, which Hourglass said has been “specially developed” to be used with the cosmetic.

“Our new Ambient Soft Glow Foundation provides this natural, lit-from-within glow, and I really wanted to bring that to life,” said Hourglass founder and CEO Carisa Janes.

“Julianne is the perfect example of what it means to be beautiful inside and out, and the way she and her daughter just light up around each other is the perfect embodiment of this campaign.”

Moore is no stranger to the cosmetics industry and has worked as a brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris since 2012.

During this time she campaigned alongside other prolific actresses such as Helen Mirren to help remove the stigma around beauty and ageing.

Moore’s storied acting career took off during the 90s when she landed leading roles in both Nine Months and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

Since then she has starred in some of the film industry’s highest grossing films, including The Hunger Games and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Moore has received an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, two Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Awards throughout her time as an actress.
