Junior Development Chemist - Cambridgeshire - £24-28,000 (AE1801B)

Conduct routine testing of raw material products and bulk products, proposing corrections where necessary

Do you have a strong scientific background, that you are keen to apply to a fast-paced dynamic market?

Are you passionate about and experienced in the formulation and development of skin care, hair care and personal care products?

A rapidly expanding beauty manufacturer is keen to recruit a capable, dynamic, and creative junior development chemist. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience, preferably within FMCG, and will approach this role with a desire to grow with the company.

This role will centre around the testing, research, development, and manufacture of innovative and commercially beneficial products. You will respond to NPD briefs to create safe, legal, and cost-effective products that will drive market competitiveness.

You will report to the Head of R&D and Senior Chemist to flag issues or discrepancies that may arise during product development. You will have a keen eye for data and detail as you conduct routine testing of raw material products and bulk products, proposing corrections where necessary.

As product manufacture scales up you will assist in troubleshooting any problems in the factory that relate to bulk product.

You will always have consumer safety in mind, as you monitor and review the stability of products, and update reports arising from stability reviews. This role will require you to manage your time and prioritise your workload effectively, especially when the reformulation of products is required within a clear deadline.

This is a role in a pivotal team that will require you to work collaboratively across teams and departments, therefore you must be committed to ensuring an open and honest communication style. You must be a team player and ready to ‘muck in’ on all tasks, from formulation to checking on lab equipment.
