Kahlwax presents heat resistant Lipstick Base 6465

Lipstick Base 6465 (INCI (EU): Cera Microcristallina, Paraffinum Liquidum, Hexyldecanol, Hexyldecyllaurate, Rhus Verniciflua Peel Wax, Bis-Diglycerylpolyacyladipate-2, Cera Alba, Tocopherol) is a low colour blend of different waxes and oils.

Lipstick Base 6465 is used for the production of lipsticks with high gloss, excellent heat resistance, and outstanding pay-off. Formulating with 6465 avoids time-consuming development work and reduces the amount of required raw materials.

The only necessary additions are 30 – 35 % oil and pigments. Stabilisers such as antioxidants and preservatives can be added if desired.

Lipstick Base 6465 is compatible with all commonly used oils. For economic formulation the use of castor oil is recommended. It can be combined with one or two light emollients that support long-lasting wear. If higher hardness or heat resistance is required, it is possible to add 0.5 – 1.5 % more wax, such as carnauba or sunflower seed wax.

For increased transfer resistance, natural or synthetic film formers can be used. We recommend our Shorea Robusta or Araucaria resins for extreme gloss and extra long wear. Working with Lipstick Base 6465 is very easy; the base has a melting point of approx. 80 °C and is not temperature-sensitive.
