Kao Chemicals Europe, part of Kao Group has extended its partnership with Univar to distribute its portfolio of products to two more European markets.
The Tokyo-based chemicals provider will now be distributed in Spain and Portugal.
Kao currently works across three continents in ten countries, including China, Japan, The Philippines and Mexico.
As well as providing chemicals for the personal care sector it also distributes ingredients for the agrochemicals, textiles, construction and cleaning industries among others.
VP for Univar in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Nigel Hayes said: “Kao has been a key strategic partner to Univar for 20 years, so we are excited to further expand our collaboration together.
“We are confident that our customers will benefit from the consistent focus we will bring, backed by strong local, technical and commercial execution.”
Kao Chemicals’ broad surfactants portfolios include alkyl ether carboxylates, which are used as mild co-surfactants, emulsifiers and solubilising agents, as well as glycerin polyoxyethylene and alcohol sulphates, amine oxides and ester quads.
