Kao develops new skin cleansing technology
Claimed to marry mildness and cleansing performance
Kao Corporation’s Beauty Research Center has developed a new cleansing technology based on a study of surfactant properties in aqueous solutions.
Based on a cleansing agent (a mixture of anionic surfactants) claimed to exhibit little sorption to the skin while effectively adsorbing the dirt on the skin surface, the cleansing technology satisfies traditionally incompatible mildness and cleansing performance claims, according to Kao.
The surfactant mix used exhibits well balanced properties of aggregability and water solubility, without crystallisation or precipitation and the resulting technology is said to be of reference to various Kao products developed on a global scale.
