Key Account Manager - Retail and Brands

To attract new direct and indirect customers to Surfachem group

Surfachem the leading independent UK based, global distributor of surfactants, speciality chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients is looking for a field based Key Account Manager – Retail and Brands.

The core responsibility of the role will be to attract new direct and indirect customers to the group through the promotion of the company, principal suppliers and new products & concepts to retailers and major brand holders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a range of new business opportunities with decision makers in the retail and brand owner marketplace for execution/conversion by the UK and International sales teams.
  • Comprehensively promote the company, their principals and new product concepts to prospective customers.
  • Fully utilise the expertise across the business to ensure successful conversion of new business opportunities.
  • Elevate the profile and recognition of the group within the branded products sector of core markets.
  • Meet/exceed agreed monthly, quarterly, annual sales and any other performance targets.
  • Continually develop and enhance new and existing relationships with all customers of the group’s products.
  • Develop intimate knowledge of customer business activity and supply opportunities to inform sales activity and supply needs.
  • Build customer loyalty to ensure the company is always given an opportunity to quote across full product portfolio.
  • Prepare and deliver annual budget for new business development/conversion.
  • Analyse sales performance trends to inform sales activity, retention and recovery strategies.

  • Reporting into Senior Management – Essential
  • Managing and Developing New Business Commercial Relationships - Desirable
  • Interaction with Board Level Customers/Board Level Reporting - Desirable
  • Personal Care Market Experience - Desirable
  • Key Account Management (retail/brand focused) - Desirable

Knowledge Required:

  • Life Science or Business Degree – Essential
  • Master’s Degree - Desirable

Other Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving License – Essential
