North Korean supreme leader tours remodelled site and calls on employees to produce more top quality products

Kim Jong Un paid a visit to the newly-refitted Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory on Sunday.

Accompanied by his wife First Lady Ri-Sol Ju and sister Kim Yo-Jong, the North Korean leader toured the facility, described as “a model and standard for the nation’s cosmetics factories” by official state news agency KCNA.

KCNA reported that the factory houses a mosaic of Kim Jong Un and Kim Yo-Jong’s father Kim Jong Il, entitled ‘To Provide Our People with Better Cosmetics’.

The tour also included a visit to the production control room, design room, laboratory and cosmetics institute, which was said to have impressed Kim Jong Un.

Giving instructions for future growth, the leader reportedly allocated tasks to modernise the second-stage production process.

Kim Jong Il provided similar guidance to the factory in August 2003, and his son said at the recent visit that his father would have been “very glad to see the factory renovated finely”, according to KCNA.

He encouraged employees to remember the words of his father and to “produce more cosmetics of good quality with world competitive power and provide the people with them”.
