In partnership with e-commerce retailer ASOS and the International Committee of the Red Cross, the 'Giveback Day' initiative will provide funds to help slow the spread of the virus in countries in crisis

Leading global payments provider Klarna has teamed up with retail giant ASOS to support the global response to Covid-19.

On 29 April, for every global transaction made using Klarna via ASOS’ site, the firm will donate £1, €1 or US$1 to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The pledge will apply to all of ASOS’ stocked products from 800 brands across beauty, fashion and home.

Funds raised from the ‘Giveback Day’ are expected to help the world’s most vulnerable people, such as those living in countries affected by war.

This will include building hospitals, providing sanitation to prevent the spread of the disease and ensuring access to clean water.

“These are challenging and worrying times for us all and we are incredibly proud to be supporting the ICRC alongside our friends at ASOS,” said Klarna’s Commercial VP Luke Griffiths.

“The ICRC is carrying out essential work to improve protection and reduce the spread of Covid-19 and we are delighted to be supporting the efforts with our Giveback Day.

“We look forward to enabling our customers to directly support the international fight against the virus and demonstrate how all of us can contribute, wherever we are.”

Klarna’s buy now, pay later services are available on a number of beauty sites including Beauty Bay, Revolution Beauty, Cult Beauty and The Beauty Store.
