Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue is bringing her Darling fragrance back to the US, five years after winning her trademark battle with Kylie Jenner.

Originally launched in 2006, the 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' singer's signature scent has been revamped with a new, vegan-friendly formula that is said to be longer lasting, as well as new packaging.

Consumers in the US can now get their hands on the Darling edp via select retailers including bespoke perfume e-tailer scentbeauty.com, following its relaunch into countries including the UK, Spain, France and Australia.

Created by Firmenich perfumer Ilias Eremendis, the floral fragrance features top notes of passionfruit, freesia and lychee; a heart of lily and boronia flower; and a warm, lingering dry down of sandalwood, amber wood and vanilla.

"The original launch of Darling was a momentous occasion in the fragrance world,” said Scent Beauty's CEO Stephen Mormoris.

“This time around is no different, Kylie is a timeless beauty, sharing a timeless scent.

“We are thrilled to be re-releasing this classic with a modern twist into the market."

Minogue added that Darling “holds a very special place in [her] heart”, saying: "It is such a joy to share this beautiful scent with my fans once more."

Clash of the Kylies

Minogue has not had the smoothest journey launching her debut scent into US shores, however.

Back in 2017, the 'Spinning Around' singer fought against a trademark application by reality star and beauty mogul Kylie Jenner for the rights to use the name 'Kylie' in the US, amid concerns about possible consumer confusion and damage to Minogue’s branding.

Speaking at the time, Minogue's lawyers dismissed Jenner as a “secondary reality television personality”, while emphasising their client as an “internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist” with more than 80 million records sold worldwide.

The 54-year-old also currently owns the US trademark for Kylie in education, entertainment and jewellery, as well as music recordings.

Since releasing her debut single 'The Loco-motion' in 1987, Minogue has gone on to achieve worldwide fame with a string of hit singles, awards and accolades, recently becoming the first female artist to top the UK albums chart in five consecutive decades.

Also boasting a number of TV and film roles, she most recently reprised her breakout role as Charlene for the final episode of long running Australian drama Neighbours.

No stranger to the world of beauty, Minogue unveiled her debut make-up brand in 2019 – also simply called Kylie – featuring a lip oil, lip gloss, multi-purpose glitter, blush and eyeshadow products.
