Marc-Alexandre Risch has taken on the specially-created role

Marc-Alexandre Risch has been named as Chief Retail Officer at L’Oréal USA, filling a newly created position.

Risch has been a member of the L’Oréal Group family for more than a decade, joining back in March 2005 as International Project Manager for hair care brand Garnier.

In his new position, Risch will be responsible for helping to develop L’Oréal USA’s back-office retail operations solutions and systems. He will also be required to help form an omnichannel consumer experience across the USA portfolio.

Frédéric Rozé, President and CEO, L'Oreal USA, said: “With our retail operations growing rapidly across brands like Kiehl's, NYX and Urban Decay, we've created this strategic role to continuously enhance our customer shopping experience.

He added: “We’re lucky to have Marc-Alexandre, a talented leader and industry expert, to guide our retail expansion and implement best-in-class systems across the company.”

Risch takes on the role having amassed a wealth of experience in the retail sector from the past 12 years working at L’Oréal. After joining L’Oréal working for Garnier, Risch progressed to join Garnier International as Axis Director Fructis in 2010. At this point, he took over the helm of marketing for the Garnier hair care brands as International Marketing Director for Garnier Haircare working across Fructis, Ultra Doux/Ultra Blends.

Then, a year later he became General Manager of The Body Shop Canada. During this posting, Risch was credited for helping helping The Body Shop Canada develop into one of the best performing markets for the brand, showing “strong and consistent growth”.

It was noted that Risch spearheaded a strategic focus on retail excellence and the transformation of the brand’s real estate portfolio. L’Oréal USA is the largest subsidiary of the L’Oréal Group. The US portfolio includes more than 30 beauty brands including Essie, Kérastase, Lancôme, Maybelline New York and Urban Decay.
