The company says it is working with authorities to investigate the fatal shooting that left two people dead

Two people are dead after a suspected murder-suicide at a L’Oréal Maybelline factory site in Arkansas.

L'Oréal USA told Cosmetics Business: "We are working closely with the authorities as they investigate this tragedy that occurred on our property early this morning.

"We do not have further information to share at this point and remain focused on supporting our employees.”

North Little Rock police said Chasity Denise Cannady, 19, and Jim Gilot, 32, were found shot to death.

Investigators believe that Gilot shot Cannady before shooting himself, police said in a news release.

Police revealed that Cannady worked at the plant and Gilot had been an employee there too, however whether Gilot was an active employee is unclear.

Police have not said how Cannady and Gilot may have known each other or motives for the shooting.

Police called out to scene

Sgt Amy Cooper of North Little Rock Police told NBC affiliate KARK that officers were called out just after 3am on 14 February.

Officers arrived at the factory, located at 11500 Maybelline Road, after being alerted to shots fired near the make-up plant, where they found two people already deceased.

It remains unclear whether the incident occurred inside or outside the building. Suspect information has not been released.
