New department for marketing strategy responds to rapidly changing market

Jean-Paul Agon, L'Oréal's director general, has announced three key changes to the group's executive committee to take effect from 1 January 2011.

A department for marketing strategy is being established under Marc Menesguen, Nicolas Hieronimus is named to take over as head of the luxury products division and An Verhulst-Santos is to take over as head of the professional products division.

The creation of a department for marketing strategy is a response to a rapidly changing market. The department will anticipate and grasp market trends as well as be responsible for analysis of consumers' needs, the creation of publicity, digital communication and distribution. Since 2004 Menesguen has been head of the luxury products division and will be succeeded in this role by Hieronimus. He will in turn be succeeded as head of the professional products division by Verhulst-Santos.
