The luxury brand owner also singled out Sephora and Guerlain for strong performances

Luxury brand owner LVMH has reported a 10% sales boost to €33.1bn in the first nine months of 2018.

Perfume and cosmetics were up 8% on last year driven by the Dior Joy perfume launch, fronted by actress Jennifer Lawrence, and the brand’s staple fragrances Sauvage, J’adore and Miss Dior.

In colour cosmetics, Rouge Dior was singled out for its strong performance. Meanwhile, Guerlain was noted for the success of its Abeille Royale skin care line and Rouge G lip franchise in make-up.

LVMH’s retail division grew by 2%, with Sephora enjoying success in North America and Asia.

Prestige travel retailer DFS also recorded solid growth in Hong Kong and Macao.

However, LVMH revealed to be cautiously optimistic. “In an uncertain geopolitical and monetary context, LVMH will continue to be vigilant,” the company said.

“The group will pursue its strategy focused on innovation and targeted geographic expansion in the most promising markets.

“LVMH will rely on the power of its brands and the talent of its teams to further extend its global leadership in the luxury market in 2018.”
