LVMH enjoys revenue growth of 17% in Q1

Cosmetics sales see 11% rise


Luxury products group LVMH has recorded revenue of €5.2bn in the first quarter of this year, putting on 17% compared to the same period last year.

Organic revenue growth was 14% compared to the same period in 2010, which had itself shown strong growth. In perfume and cosmetics sector, the organic revenue growth stood at 11% in the first quarter. The company says that Christian Dior in particular has an excellent quarter thanks to the sustained growth of its flagship product ranges. Q1 saw the successful launch of the Dior Addict lipstick and the roll-out of a new perfume, Miss Dior, the campaign for which was fronted by actress Natalie Portman.

The Guerlain brand also benefited from the rapid growth of its legendary fragrance Shalimar and from its skin care range Orchidée Impériale while Givenchy’s growth was driven by the success on its Play for Her fragrance, launched last year.
