TV personality and designer Lauren Conrad has introduced a surprise debut beauty line.

Lauren Conrad Beauty features skin care and make-up products that are said to be focused on ‘clean’ ingredients and eco-friendly materials.

All of the products are made from recyclable materials, and some are made using sugarcane bioresin, while its shipping packaging is compostable.

The brand has also committed to choosing manufacturers and suppliers that use less energy and water; it even includes sustainable ink for its packaging.

So far, the 34-year-old has revealed five make-up products in the line, including a lip and cheek tint, liquid highlighter, eyeliner, lip gloss and four lipsticks.

Announcing the launch to her six million Instagram followers, Conrad wrote: “I’m very excited to announce @laurenconradbeauty! This collection has been years in the making and I can finally share it with everyone!

“@laurenconradbeauty products are clean, environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, cruelty-free and vegan.”

Despite reports that the category is losing favour with consumers, she becomes the latest public figure to try her hand at beauty in a series of recent launches from celebrities in the last 12 months.

Pop star and former Disney royalty Selena Gomez introduced Rare Beauty in February, Victoria Beckham saw her eponymous brand launch at London’s Fashion Week in 2019 and Lady Gaga revealed Haus Laboratories last summer.

Meanwhile, the husband of reality TV star Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, has trademarked Yeezy Beauty, which could see the billionaire launch skin care and make-up products.
