Lubrizol claims its mildest thickener yet

Published: 11-Jul-2011

Glucamate VLT is a naturally derived, propylene glycol-free liquid

New from Lubrizol Corporation’s Noveon Consumer Specialties is Glucamate VLT thickener [INCI: PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Trioleate (and) Propanediol]. This naturally derived associative thickener is said to reduce surfactant irritancy while producing superior thickening and a rich, creamy lather. Recommended for use in baby shampoos, facial cleansers, liquid hand soaps, mild shampoos and shower gels, this corn-derived thickener is claimed to be the company’s mildest yet.

The liquid format means Glucamate VLT thickener can be used in cold processing and an easy pump viscosity means it can be added to the manufacturing process at any time, including post-addition.

A versatile nonionic thickener, Glucamate VLT is said to be compatible with most ingredients used in today's liquid surfactant systems. It is also said to provide luxurious sensory properties through the formation of rich, creamy lather and a light, emollient afterfeel.
