Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, part of the Unipex Group, has launched a new active ingredient, Phytenso, which is claimed to provide an alternative to the practise of using hair relaxers and blowouts, which are known to cause damage to the hair.
Inspired by its phospholipids expertise, the company has developed Phytenso as a natural hair straightener delivering a soft and “safe change” from the use of chemical treatments as it preserves the structure of the hair fibres.
The ingredient provides this function while maintaining a natural, healthy look for hair by forming a sheathing film around the hair strand that elongates the curl through a mechanical action. This also locks out humidity and reduces the appearance of frizz, especially in humid conditions.
