Macy’s hosts in-store events to celebrate the Year of the Dog

The US retailer is embracing Lunar New Year festivities with beauty tutorials, traditional lion dances, instrumental performances and fashion presentations

Macy’s is due to host a series of in-store events in the US to celebrate Lunar New Year 2018.

Consumers at stores in New York, California and Hawaii will be able to take part in various activities including Cosmetics Glam Squad makeovers.

There will also be traditional lion dancers, as well as DJ sets.

William Hawthorne, senior vice president of Diversity Strategies, Macy’s, said: “Throughout the year, Macy’s highlights and celebrates the diverse cultures of our customers and employees.

“We are thrilled to kick off 2018 and the ‘year of the dog’ with special curated product assortments and cultural activities across the country.”

The department store retailer is also stocking an assortment of Lunar New Year-themed products across its beauty, fashion and accessories floors, including Estée Lauder’s Year of the Dog gold compact.

The events will take place in stores until 24 February.
