New beauty brand Guide Beauty has launched to market with the aim of reinventing the beauty space for those with limited motor control.

The brand is the brainchild of former Dior and Stila make-up artistry teacher, Terri Bryant, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease five years ago.

Her new product line features Lash Wrap mascara and Brow Moment gel, which have been designed with a guide ring to help steady the hand when applying.

Meanwhile, its Guide Wand features a precision applicator tip and a handle that is designed to be easier to hold, to give control when applying eyeliner.

This can be paired with the brand’s Guide Line cream eyeliner, which allows the wand to pick up the right amount of product for application.

“I am often asked how I can truly relate to the average make-up user when I have the skills of a professional make-up artist,” said Bryant.

“A few years ago, I started the question why I too was struggling with certain make-up techniques. My doctor provided me with the answer when I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

“So now I am a professional make-up artist, beauty educator and someone who knows what it feels like to struggle to get their eyeliner straight and their brows on point.”

Bryant added that her condition had given her a “beautiful gift”, one that she is “grateful and excited to share”.

Prices start from US$26 and are available at guidebeauty.com.
