Mathew Alexander opens debut eponymous salon in central London

Make-up and hair stylist Mathew Alexander has opened his debut eponymous salon on London’s New Quebec Street.

Set over two floors, the salon is offering customers cuts, colours and hair styling services, as well as make-up applications and lessons using a range of premium brands from Tom Ford to Path McGrath.

Inside, customers will also be able to purchase hair care lines from HairStory and Davines, both of which practice a sustainable and environmental-friendly ethos.

This theme continues throughout the interior with worktops made from recycled marble, eco-friendly paint and styling chairs which are made from mostly recycled and recyclable materials.

Meanwhile, the atrium is dressed with an array of hanging and climbing plants.

Alexander has been named as one of the UK’s Ten Most Trusted Hair Colourists by Harpers Bazaar and worked with celebrities including Gillian Anderson, Natascha McElhone and Rose Byrne, as well as acting as Lancôme’s BAFTA make-up artist in 2011 and 2012.

He is also said to be working towards implementing a scheme at the salon that will donate two pounds of every client bill to a humanitarian charity.
