Walgreens Boots Alliance announces “most difficult quarter” in its history

UK health and beauty retailer Boots has warned it could be forced to close stores and cut further jobs following a profit warning from parent company Walgreens Boots Alliance.

The US company slashed its full-year earnings outlook after warning weak sales in the US and the UK has led to the pharmacy chain’s “most difficult quarter” since its merger five years ago.
