Clarins-owned fragrance brand Mugler has opened a new retail playground at Macy’s Chicago store.

At the centre of the space is Mugler’s newly designed perfume fountain, where customers can refill their Angel, Alien and Aura scents.

This modern take on an 18th century perfume fountain launched in 1992, however, the new design has been modernised to feature recycled glass cartridges.

Inside, shoppers will also be able to use the brand’s interactive technology, including its Fragrance Finder and Radio Frequency Identification systems to help find their ideal scent.

Commenting on the new space, Clarins’ International Creative Director, Christophe de Lataillade, said: “With its soft curves and round modules in its architecture, this Mugler boudoir is designed to surprise and trigger personal emotions.

“It blends Mugler’s couture codes and oneiric surrealism.”

Its 12 scents will also be on display in-store for customers to purchase.

French cosmetics giant L’Oréal is said to be in negotiations with Clarins to take over the brand.
