The Intense Recovery Cream features a blend of shea butter, Mirabilis jalapa plant extract and microalgae extract

The eponymous beauty brand of pharmacist Howard Murad has revealed a new recovery cream, designed to calm irritated and damaged skin.

The new Intense Recovery Cream (£68) is blended with shea butter and macadamia oil to moisturise severely dehydrated skin; Mirabilis jalapa plant extract for its soothing properties and to reduce redness; and microalgae extract to improve dark circles under the eye area.

Meanwhile, the formula’s composition is said to smooth stress-induced signs of ageing, such as expression lines on the face and around the eyes.

“We created Intense Recovery Cream to deliver what helps today’s skin look and feel healthy in a modern world,” said Murad, who founded his skin care brand in 1989 at the age of 50.

“It relieves visible symptoms of stress, delivers quick comfort, strengthens the barrier, calms irritation and boosts resilience so skin can recover and come back stronger.”

The product should be massaged over clean skin on the face, chest and neck, and gently patted around the eye area, morning and night.
