Brazilian firm looks to bolster brand portfolio through venture capital funds

Brazilan cosmetics company Natura, which owns the natural beauty brands Natura, The Body Shop and Aesop, has announced it intends to invest up to $5m in new brands in the beauty and wellness segments in Europe and the US through venture capital funds.

According the Reuters, the brand owner saw first quarter net income grow by 72.8% year-on-year to 41.9 million reais ($10.63m), below a consensus estimate of 59.1 million reais compiled by Refinitiv, as higher expenses overshadowed revenue gains.
