Natural & organic cosmetics take centre stage

Niche organic brands launched at Natural & Organic Products Europe 2015

Natural & Organic Products Europe 2015 in London - Europe’s biggest trade show for natural, organic and fair trade brands included representatives from major supermarkets, specialist suppliers, international wholesalers and distributors, salons and spas, and independent retail outlets. The show included a section for Natural Beauty & Spa, as well as the Eco Luxe Pavilion for luxury eco-beauty brands and the new Venus Beauty Pavilion - specifically for natural beauty product launches.

Buyers present included brands such as Boots, Superdrug, Harrods, BeautyMART and Carrefour, and a large number of brands in the natural and organic personal care and beauty sector, including Inika Cosmetics, Surya Nature, Pure & Light Organic, Lariese Purely Organic, MooGoo Skin Care and Antique Apothecary. Louisa Maaldrink, beauty buyer at M&S, gave the keynote address on the company's plans for growth of its natural beauty department.

The Savannah Bee Company's Royal Jelly Body Butter won the event's Best New Natural Beauty and Spa Product award. “The Natural Product Expo UK helped introduce our brand to an international audience and connected us to partners who can represent us in the UK. We are honoured and thrilled to have our Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter win the Best New Beauty and Spa Product Award,” says Maria Lancaster, executive vice president, Savannah Bee Company. Natures Aid Ltd's Collagen Beauty Formula and Savon Stories' Cold-Processed Organic Liquid Soap were finalists.

Soley Organics' GRÆÐIR healing cream and Natures Aid Organic Evening Primrose Oil were both finalists for show's 2015 Best New Organic Product award.

Brands in attendance included returning exhibitors Beauty without Cruelty (Ultra Glow Cosmetics), Childs Farm and The Yes Yes Company. Distributors Kinetic Natural Products (giovanni, Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap, and Jason) and Australis (A’kin, Balance Me, Barefoot Botanicals, Lovea and Madara) were also at the show.

New additions to the Natural Beauty & Spa line-up to date, include Montagne Jeunesse, PHB Ethical Beauty, Manuka Doctor, 100% Pure, John Masters Organics, Nourish, Aubrey Organics, Simone Chickenbone, private label skin care specialist My Sacred Fig, Puresun (UK distributors of OrganicSeries cosmetics), Bathing Beauty, Aromata Mirabilia, Natural Spa Factory, Laboratoires Bea, 001 Skincare London, and Pommade Divine.

- Amanda Barlow, managing director of award-winning skincare company Spiezia Organics, Jessica Laura, co-founder of botanical skincare brand Raw Gaia, and Pai Skincare founder, Sarah Brown will be among those discussing new trends, ingredients, and innovations - New speakers for 2015 include cosmetic scientist Dr. Mojgan Moddaresi and Susie Mills from Australian colour cosmetics brand Inika Cosmetics.
