New data on Solabia’s antibacterial shield

Published: 14-Dec-2017

Solabia has revealed new results on its Teflose ingredient, a microbiota-friendly antibacterial adhesion shield.

A polysaccharide from bacterial fermentation, Teflose inhibits the adhesion of bacteria that may be responsible for imbalances.

It has traditionally been used for odour control and to soothe inflamed skin.

However, an in vitro study showed Teflose to inhibit the formation of bacterial biofilms, a system whereby bacteria communicate with each other to protect themselves.

It was also found to regulate bacterial virulence induced by neurogenic stress, protecting vulnerable skin from the risks of microbiota imbalance.
