SkinMedica snaps up mineral brand Colorescience

The Colorescience brand, founded by creator of Bare Escentuals Diane Ranger has been acquired by US professional skin care brand SkinMedica. Colorescience is adopted in physician-based aesthetics and well known amongst dermatologists for post-procedure coverage and colour correction.

“Each Colorescience product has been carefully formulated to work together in achieving the best results. It is with that same thoughtful consideration of synergy and results, that we have chosen to merge with SkinMedica,” said Ranger. “Our shared values and commitment to creating advanced products for the physician channel make this an exciting partnership.”

Professional brand Colorescience is sold in the medical, spa and aesthetician channel and the brand had recently launched Colorescience Pro, a line of cosmetics created to camouflage specific skin concerns and protecting it from the sun.

Ceo of SkinMedica Mary Fisher commented on the acquisition saying that mineral make-up has been a plan for some time while the company’s president, Ted Schwarz said: “With Colorescience we can now offer our physician customers three categories of patient care – skin care, non surgical procedures, and now mineral make-up – which will further deepen our relationships with our customers and their patients by enhancing outcomes with immediate results.”
