The Co-founder of the salon franchise and product range helped bring the celebrity brow trend to the mainsteam market

High Definition has announced that Nilam Holmes-Patel will be stepping down from her role as CEO and leaving the company.

Holmes-Patel co-founded the brow salon brand with Karen Betts in 2008, who will now take over the role.

Holmes-Patel has over 20 years in the beauty industry. She is the owner of High Definition Beauty Boutique (formerly known as Dermaspa Clinic) and her make-up artist television credits include The X Factor UK.

I am looking forward to progressing my personal education and career, and finding the next thing that sets my creative heart on fire. I wish Karen Betts, the team and stylists all the best for the future.

But it is her work within the brow industry that might be most recognisable for consumers, as she is credited for bringing the celebrity-like brow to the high street through the franchised salons.

“It is with sadness that I announce I am leaving High Definition. I am thankful for the amazing journey I have had working with great people to develop an innovative treatment system and products,” she said.

“Together we have transformed the way people look at brows and created a strong ‘eyebrow’ sector in the beauty industry.”

High Definition now has more than 10,000 stylists and stockists in the UK, as well as training academies in Leeds, Glasgow, Milton Keynes and Ireland. The brand launched internationally last year in Russia and India.

The award-winning company has not revealed the next steps of the brow expert’s career, but her comments imply she is hoping for another challenge.

She said: “I am looking forward to progressing my personal education and career, and finding the next thing that sets my creative heart on fire. I wish Karen Betts, the team and stylists all the best for the future.”

But Holmes-Patel expressed her sadness of leaving the company on Twitter:

It was just last year that the company rebranded from HD Brows to High Definition in a strategic move.
