Issey Miyake is launching a new fragrance for men, Nuit d’Issey. The scent is built around a visual and sensorial journey ‘into the heart of a mysterious night under the protective shadow of the moon, which serves as a guide for the man who walks alone, absorbing the force of the nocturnal elements to gather up new energy’.
Sharp and crisp, the fragrance is an ode to wood. The top notes feature bright, zesty citrus accords of bergamot and grapefruit, while a leather accord emerges from the middle, enhanced with spices, black pepper, wood and vetiver. A base of rich, textured accords with patchouli and incense are rounded off by smooth tonka bean.
According to perfumers Dominique Ropion and Loc Dong, the composition was designed to convey the idea of ‘adding light to the night’.
Nuit d’Issey’s bottle changes from a smokey gradation to a streaked black, while atop the bottle, the opaque deep black cap has been given a matte finish. The box mirrors the variation in black tones of the bottle, the contrast in shades separated by a horizon line.
Available now, Nuit d'Issey is priced at €46 for a 75ml EdT and €65 for a 125ml EdT.
