Many would say that K-beauty was responsible for the popularisation of sheet masks in the cosmetics arena. But sheet masks have been adopted since the 1800s. Although not in the conventional methods that we know today.

Slices of beef were thought to be one of the early ways of ‘sheet masking’, by which women would use these meaty methods to avoid ageing skin.
