Online sales boom for French selective perfumery as sales slide in-store

Retailers continue to develop their e-commerce capabilities

Turnover in French selective perfumery fell by 2% in 2018, but online sales are up 17%, according to market researcher NPD Group. 

The channel is continuing to develop in e-commerce, says the analyst, and online turnover stood at €235m for 2018. 

"In e-commerce, selective perfumery recruits consumers,” said Mathilde Lion, Beauty Europe Industry Expert at NPD.
