Pacifica Beauty has found a new CEO in beauty veteran and former boss of Huda Beauty, Nathalie Kristo.

Kristo took up the role of Chief Executive when Huda Beauty’s founder, Huda Kattan, wanted to step back from her corporate responsibilities, focusing on product development instead.

Just six months after taking up the top position, however, Kristo left the Dubai-based company and took a break from business until January 2022, when she joined Pacifica, according to her LinkedIn page.

And Kristo is joining Pacifica under similar circumstances.

She will take over the reins as CEO from the brand’s founder Brook Harvey-Taylor, who moves into the position of President.

In her new position, Harvey-Taylor will dedicate her time to growing key parts of the business and fuelling product development.

In addition to Kristo’s appointment, Pacifica has landed a strategic investment from private equity group Brentwood Associates to help build on its double-digit growth.

“For the last 25 years, we have pushed to democratise clean, vegan and more sustainable beauty with our accessible price points,” said Harvey-Taylor.

“The consumer has never been more ready for our brand than they are today.

“As we continue to rapidly grow, I am so excited to have Brentwood as our new partner, with their deep bench of talent and capabilities in helping brands scale.”

She continued: “With the addition of Nathalie as our CEO, bringing her incredible leadership and experience, I believe we are going to be unstoppable.

“Nathalie is truly inspirational and she is aligned with our mission and values.

“Her global beauty experience and her proven track record will be invaluable as we look to take Pacifica to new heights.”

Prior to joining Huda Beauty, Kristo held senior positions at NYX Professional and did a 14-year stint at L’Oréal USA.

At Kattan’s beauty business, she was attributed as leading its strategies into skin care and new markets.

Speaking about her new role, she said: “We are experiencing an important paradigm shift as consumers make more clean, sustainable and compassionate choices.

“Pacifica has been true to this mission since day one and embodies today’s consumer values.

“I am excited to help amplify this storytelling mission, grow our global community and drive strong growth and expansion for the company, capitalising on great momentum and strong potential ahead.

“I am deeply inspired by Brook, the Pacifica team and our passionate, growing community.”
